2020 Chardonnay
The 2020 grow season was a drought year here in Alexander Valley, this led to lower berry weight creating amazing layered, flavorful, and rich wines. Our Estate Chardonnay is a combination of the Robert Young Clone #17 and Clone #102 known as the Musque Clone for its floral and nuance aromas. This wine was barrel fermented and aged in 50% new French Oak for 18 months with a full malolactic fermentation. This brings together a wine with density and a full mouth feel ending clean and refreshing. The nose is bright and full of Meyer lemon zest, baked pie crust, brioche, and a subtle floral honeysuckle note. The 2020 Chardonnay lights up the palate right away with gold delicious apple, Asian pear, and kumquat, giving way to a touch of baking spices and finishing with a limestone minerality and medium acidity. With a beautiful straw color, rich palate up front, clean acidity and a medium long finish this wine delivers in every way.
