Coming from the original five acres purchased in 1931, this wine is a perfect example of Zialena Cabernet Sauvignon. Our second year using the concrete, open-top, tank fermenters unique to Zialena, Mark is seeing great subtlety and nuance coming through on this Cabernet Sauvignon. Dried bay leaf and pencil shaving aromas arrive on the nose backed by a hint of mixed berries. This beautiful brick colored wine begins with minerality and is quickly followed by black cherry and a touch of white pepper. A jewel of a Cabernet, this wine finishes with a savory maltiness that lingers on the palate just long enough for you to anticipate your next sip.
