The 2018 vintage was a very well-rounded year for Zialena, plenty of rain in the off season and a long hot summer. This Zinfandel has the depth and complexity the Mazzoni Clone Zinfandel is known for. It greets you with scents of Chinese Five-spice, clove, nutmeg and a touch of bay leaf. The ruby color complements the first sip with dark fruits of cherry and wild black berry give way to a hint of mushroom earthiness on the palate. Finishing with just a pinch of white pepper and well-balanced acidity.
